Responsibilities:

Peraton is seeking a Lead Configuration Management Engineer (CME) in our Chantilly, VA office in support of our Department of Defense customer.  As part of this highly talented, motivated, and high-performing team, you will lead all Configuration Management (CM) and Quality Assurance activities including documentation, software, and hardware of a cloud-based infrastructure. Responsibilities: 

Develop, implement, and maintain overarching Configuration Management (CMP) Plan including procedures, tools, and establishes responsibilities, authorities, and plan approval levels

Own, update, and maintain program Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRLs) and process to deliver CDRLs to the government customer including assures quality and technical review is conducted

Facilitate configuration item (CI) submissions into software CM tools in support of program CM repository for configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products

Recommend and execute procedures for verifying accuracy of CI, adherence to CM process, and identifying process deficiencies

Provide technical writing expertise in generating and updating technical documentation provided by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

Creating / providing technical and programmatic templates supporting CDRLs and technical documentation

Maintain program process asset library including all process definitions, templates, and document samples

Develops, implements, and maintains overarching Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and establishes responsibilities, authorities, and plan approval levels. Captures documents, reviews & findings, and coordinates corrective action with internal stakeholders

Performs process and product evaluations (audits) to ensure compliance with established policies, processes, procedures, and applicable standards

Performs a variety of technical and administrative activities related to the function of QA (auditing), including, but not limited to checklist development, facilitating root cause/lessons learned analysis, and internal/external presentations

Participates in program request for change and change control board meetings supporting baseline changes

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Holds an active Top Secret clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in technical, management, or related field and 8+ years of experience in configuration management related field; Or a Master’s degree and 6+ years of experience in a configuration management related field.  Four (4) years of equivalent experience may be substituted for Bachelors. 

Lead a team or held position as sole program configuration management process

Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and maintaining overarching CM plan

Experience creating, updating, and maintaining program-level asset or documentation configuration library

Ability to develop, implement, and maintain overarching QA procedures with internal stakeholders

Experience using Jira, Confluence, Document for Jira, GitLab, GitHub, SharePoint or other configuration management tools

Experience managing and tracking code versions between development, test, and production environments

Experience drafting, editing, and providing feedback on technical documentation

Ability to work with management, developers, and external staff to ensure there is timely flow from each level of review and that the required artifacts are completed and archived per policy and procedure

Desired Qualifications

Holds a CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent certification

Experience working with or on a team using SAFeAgile methodologies

Working knowledge of Systems Engineering (SE) concepts

Holds Configuration Management II (CMII), Project Management Professional (PMP), Software Engineering Master Certification (SEMC), and/or IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification or business equivalent certification

Working knowledge of cloud and virtualized environments

Target Salary Range:

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
