Overview:

We’re Collins Comfort Masters, serving residents of the Valley, Tucson, Prescott, & beyond with reliable Air Conditioning, Heating, Plumbing, Indoor Air Quality, and Water Treatment services for over 40 years. We’re not your typical home services company- with over 180 employees, running 20,000+ service calls per year, and a projected 40% year over year increase in revenue, we’re industry leaders and growing fast! 

We are seeking a meticulous accounting professional with 2-3+ years of experience working in a mid-high level accounting position to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Controller in a thriving, mid-sized company, providing support in various financial tasks such as internal and corporate reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and preparing quarterly and year-end financial statements. Superior Excel skills are a must for this high-profile position. This is a full-time position based in our Tempe office.

Competitive pay! $65,000 - $75,000 per year

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile bank statements

Working knowledge of accounts payables and receivables processes

Process various account reconciliations for month end close

Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results

Analyze financial information and summarize financial status

Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending

Provide technical support and advice on accounting functions

Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule

Assist with insurance and tax audits

Support month-end and year-end close process

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Ensure compliance with GAAP principles

Liaise with our Controller to improve financial procedures

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

Thorough knowledge accounting policy and procedures

In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Awareness of business trends

Familiarity with financial accounting statements

Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

Hands-on experience with various accounting software packages

Advanced MS Excel skills including V-lookups and pivot tables

Accuracy and attention to detail

Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment

BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant is a must

CPA preferred or eligible to receive CPA

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
