Overview:

Compensation - Min: $26.70  Max: $44.00  plus a 15% Per Diem differential

Per Diem - varied hours/days, no set schedule.

The Hospice Chaplain provides spiritual presence, counsel, guidance, and coordination of pastoral care to the terminally ill and their families. Chaplain will make home visits as mandated by CMS and allowed by patient and/or family, record work in the digital record, and assure that pastoral care is integrated in the overall plan of care. Chaplain will perform religious services as requested and deliverable within the normal work week. Chaplain will assure that patient’s denominational and religious preferences are respected by collaborating with local clergy as approved. The Hospice Chaplain reports directly to the Manager of Home Health and Hospice.

Responsibilities:

Ability to work effectively with patients who have widely varying physical, emotional, cultural, and religious/spiritual needs which bring meaning to their lives and to their experiences.

Able to appropriately articulate his/her own spiritual perspective and integration while remaining respectful of the perspective of others.

Able to interact with faith community leaders of diverse denominations and faith traditions.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years’ experience of Pastoral/Spiritual leadership in a congregational or  specialized ministry setting.

 A degree in divinity, theology, spiritual care or a related field is preferred.”
