Overview:

Supervises the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure office, guest rooms, and other specified areas of the hotel are kept clean and maintained. Inspects cleaned areas to ensure they meet established standards.

Responsibilities:

Supervises the daily cleaning of assigned rooms, bathrooms, corridor areas and public areas; ensures the following duties meet established standards: changing bed linens, replacing towels, cleaning bathrooms thoroughly, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting.

Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.

Creates daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for housekeeping staff.

Ensures housekeeping staff complies with established service standards; performs daily and monthly room inspections and evaluates physical condition of hotel with Housekeeping Manager.

Communicates with Housekeeping Manager and front desk staff regarding rooms ready for occupancy.

Attends staff meetings to discuss new information, changes, and concerns.

Oversees stocking of housekeeping carts.

Maintains, stocks, and monitors inventory system for cleaning supplies, amenities, products, linen, and housekeeping storage areas on each floor.

Communicates with maintenance staff on all needed repairs and issues.

Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency, staff shortages, or as needed.

Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action.

Documents and reports to Housekeeping Manager observed or known safety hazards, conditions, or unsafe practices and procedures.

Makes recommendations to Housekeeping Manager to improve service and operational efficiency.

Communicates departmental policies and procedures and demonstrates proper use and maintenance of equipment.

Forecasts staffing requirements based on historical trends and upcoming events.

Remains current on industry standards regarding chemical controls, cleaning equipment, OSHA, security, and safety.

Ensures the upkeep of vacant rooms.

Replenishes brochures and paper goods throughout the rooms and hotel.

Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.

Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration, while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

Three years of experience in housekeeping or laundry operations required; in the hospitality industry highly desirable.

Two years of prior supervisory experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of housekeeping hotel operations, including inventory, cleaning, and scheduling.

Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and Internet.

Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.

Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.

Native American hiring preference applies.
