Overview:

The Head of Data & Analytics at Anne Arundel Dermatology will lead the organization's data strategy, ensuring high standards of data quality and fostering data-driven decision-making across the business. This role is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive both strategic initiatives and business growth. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the role will require hands-on involvement in key areas such as ETL processes, database administration, data modeling, and PowerBI reports and dashboard development. Success will be measured by maintaining high data accuracy and consistency, delivering actionable insights that directly impact business decisions across all teams, and increasing data visibility and accessibility through enhanced reporting and dashboards.

Lead and influence data strategy across the organizationDevelop and implement a comprehensive data and analytics strategy aligned with business goals and healthcare compliance standards.

Lead, mentor, and manage the data and analytics team, ensuring professional development and high performance.

Collaborate with executive leadership to identify business opportunities and challenges where data-driven solutions can add value.

Implement and execute organization’s Data StrategyLead and execute the ETL process for transforming raw data into usable formats, ensuring seamless data integration across systems and supporting the organization's data needs.

Develop and refine data models and build PowerBI dashboards and reports, delivering insightful and actionable visualizations to support business decision-making.

Maintain data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance (e.g., HIPAA), fostering a culture of data integrity throughout the organization.

Constantly be on the lookout to improve status quo with an insatiable appetite for technologies and data insights.

Deliver Analytics and Insights:Direct the analysis of large datasets, focusing on predictive analytics to uncover key trends in patient care and operational efficiencies.

Develop and deliver comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations that support data-driven decision-making across clinical, operational, and strategic functions.

Actively engage in data modeling and the building of dashboards and reports in PowerBI to ensure the timely delivery of actionable insights to business teams.

Collaborate and coordinate with business teams including but not limited to Operations, Finance, Marketing and HRWork closely with cross-functional teams to assess their data needs and deliver tailored analytical support (e.g. additional raw data sources integrated, data model updates, PowerBI support, etc.)

Develop training programs for analysts in different functions to analyze the data model without data team involvement

Promote data literacy across the organization to ensure informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with proficiency in tools like SQL, Python, R, and data visualization platforms such as PowerBI.

Practical experience in end-to-end data handling from extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to data visualization and modeling.

Expertise in healthcare analytics, including familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and population health management tools, preferably Modernizing Medicine (ModMed).

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to convey technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Licensure/Certifications/Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred

A minimum of 10 years in data analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing teams in a healthcare environment.

Extensive experience with healthcare data management, governance, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations like HIPAA.

Hands-on experience in ETL processes, database administration, data modeling, and building reports and dashboards in PowerBI.

Experience with Azure Data Factory would be a plus
