Overview:
Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is recruiting for a Dietitian for our Dietary Department. This is a per-diem, 8-hour position, variable shifts. Monterey Park Hospital is a 101 bed acute care community hospital. Monterey Park Hospital has provided our community with advanced medical and culturally sensitive healthcare services for over 50 years. This position reports to the Director of Dietary.
Responsibilities:
The Dietitian will be responsible for effective nutritional assessment and charting of patients, within policies of the department and completing order consults. The Dietitian will also be responsible for review and update or patient education materials, diet manual, and patient menus; monitoring tube feedings; conducting inservice education for Nutritional Services Department and other hospital staff as necessary; enforcing policies and procedures regarding safe food handling and service; educating and monitoring hemodialysis patients, as assigned; and provides nutrition education to medical staff, patients, students, and personnel.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor degree from an accredited school with a major in nutrition preferred or completion of ADA approved dietetics internship
Minimum Experience:
Thorough knowledge of foods and nutrition, including preparation, production, supervisory and instructional techniques.
Sufficient previous experience in dietetics
License / Certification:
ADA registration
