The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK’s & Ireland’s Building Services sector. Our client design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.
With over 17 years of experience within the Commercial Offsite Fabrication industry, our client has established themselves as a market leader in this sector.
Located centrally between Dublin and Belfast our 8.5 acre Head Office
They employ a strong team of design engineers, CAD technicians, contracts managers and skilled trades personnel who utilise their vast industry experience to assist in the design, fabrication and delivery of their bespoke MEP solutions, which their supply throughout the UK and Ireland.
Hours | Mon –Thurs 7am - 5pm and Fri 7am - 4pm
Job Summary: Reporting to Fabrication Manager
We are seeking self-motivated and experienced fabricators to fabricate a range of pipe arrangements to support our team of skilled welders. As a fabricator the successful candidates will be required to be on site each day within the fabrication/welding facility, fabricating pipe arrangements from our shop drawings.
The ability to produce some or all types of welds, i.e., TIG, MMA and MAG for assembly purposes would be required with the opportunity for the successful candidates to develop their skills to numerous welding disciplines and in house welding procedures.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with the Senior Fabricator & Fabrication Coordinator were required to establish workload requirements.
* Read and fully understand the pipe fabrication drawings for each project.
* Fabricate pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel & stainless steel pipe ranging from 65mm – 500mm) from shop drawings.
* Ensure company welding procedures are adhered to and pipe preparation and fit up is carried out to the correct standard.
* Liaise regularly with line managers regarding any defects, safety issues and any non-conformances.
* Ensuring allocated work progresses in a timely manner and in accordance with workload and specifications.
* Set an example to all personnel when on site.
* Any other duties deemed necessary by management.
Essential Criteria
* Minimum of 3 years’ operating as an established experienced fabricator, experienced working with various ferrous and nonferrous metals, pipes, flanges, and other components to complete various arrangements.
* The ability to interpret welding procedure requirements.
* Confident in understanding shop fabrication and assembly drawings
* Organized and structured approach to your work.
* Good attendance and timekeeping record.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Ability to maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, whilst maintaining a high level of productivity.
* To undertake training in line with company standards.
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience as a pipe fabricator, producing a wide range of pipe arrangements.
* Previous experience within a heavy fabrication, architectural steelwork or welding environment
* Experienced operating any of the following machines, Pipe Beveller, Plasma Cutter, Press Brake, TIG, MIG and MAG Welders and welding ancillaries, rotators etc.)
