Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a progressive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bradford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced support professional to make a genuine impact, helping students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs thrive in their educational journey. This role is available for an immediate start.

About the Role:

As an SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally. Your ability to build trusting relationships will be essential in helping these young individuals develop their confidence and resilience. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will contribute to creating a positive learning environment where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to succeed.

Your Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs
Assist in the implementation of tailored behaviour plans and interventions
Help to create and maintain a supportive classroom environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their personal and social development
Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and engagementWhat We're Looking For:

Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting students
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
Experience in managing challenging behaviour
