Job Title: Hatchery Operative
Area: South Norfolk
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (Days) 40 Hrs per week
Salary: Good rates of pay OT Extra
Holidays: 31 Days
One of our prestigious clients is looking for a Hatchery Operative to join their team on a day to day basis, this is a great opportunity for a career in a secure food industry role.
Responsible to Hatchery Manager
Key Role Objective
Assist and support with the day-to-day duties in the hatchery, ensuring the chicks are managed to the highest welfare standards and meet the required specification,
Whilst aiding the team through a wide variety of activities, the Hatchery Operative role provides an ideal steppingstone to a career in poultry production.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
• Ensure high standards of health and welfare of livestock are maintained at all times.
• Handle eggs and chicks according to welfare standards fully understanding equipment and facilities used.
• Carry out cleaning and disinfection duties as per instructions from the Manager on duty to ensure compliance with current bio-security standards according to Company best practice.
• Complete all paperwork as required.
• Ensure Codes of Practice are adhered to.
• Undertake any other duties as required to fulfil the needs of the position.
• Attend training courses which are determined as appropriate by the Company.
Requirements
• No prior experience is necessary as training will be given through on-the-job training as well as through our company and industry training programs.
• A keen interest in poultry where animal welfare is of the utmost importance.
• The ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own when required.
