Job Title: Paraplanner - Wealth Management
Location: Bristol (OR Manchester OR London)
Salary/Rate: £250-£350 per day
Start Date: 21/10/24
Job Type: 6 Month Contract - Inside IR35

Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Paraplanner to join their team for a six-month contract initial contract. The Ideal candidate must have experience within a Wealth Management firm or similar.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
You will play a critical role in supporting the financial planners and advisors within a wealth management firm. You will be responsible for providing technical research, preparing detailed financial plans, and ensuring that all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.

  1. Fact-Finding Support: Assist financial advisers in collecting and reviewing client data to ensure all relevant information is considered in the financial planning process.
  2. Suitability Letters: Draft suitability reports for the adviser to present to the client, explaining why certain financial products or investment options were recommended.
  3. Compliance: Ensure all reports and recommendations comply with relevant regulatory requirements, such as FCA standards.
  4. Client Interaction: Occasionally interact with clients to clarify details, answer questions, and update them on the progress of their financial plans, though not primarily a client-facing role.
  5. Ongoing Reviews: Regularly review clients' financial situations to update plans as needed, ensuring they remain aligned with their evolving needs and market conditions.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

  1. Proven experience as a paraplanner in a wealth management or financial planning firm.
  2. Excellent understanding of financial planning, pensions, investments, tax, and estate planning.
  3. Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  4. Proficient in financial planning software (eg, XPLAN, Voyant, or similar).
  5. Good knowledge of regulatory environments, including FCA guidelines.
  6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

  1. Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (CII or equivalent).
  2. Progress towards Chartered Financial Planner status or a desire to achieve this.
  3. Experience in working with high-net-worth individuals or families.
  4. Knowledge of complex financial products, such as trusts, VCTs, EIS, and tax-efficient structures.
