PACE is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the collection process, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive relationships with our clients.
The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with excellent communication and negotiation skills. You should have a strong understanding of collection laws and regulations and be able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are paramount in this role.
What you will do:
Managing the collection process and working to reduce outstanding debts
Contacting customers via phone, email, and mail to secure payments
Negotiating payment plans and settlements with customers
Updating customer records and maintaining accurate documentation of communication and payment history
Resolving billing and payment discrepancies
Reviewing financial statements and assessing customer creditworthiness
Collaborating with other departments to resolve customer inquiries and disputes
Lien releases
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in finance or related field preferred
Proven experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role
In-depth knowledge of collection laws and regulations
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and database software
Excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Strong customer service skills and ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism
