Location Type: Hybrid

Position Type: Full Time 

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM 

Works independently and in conjunction with business lenders, business members, and legal department to effectuate the documentation, closing, and booking of business loans while meeting deadlines established by the financing needs of the member.

Responsibilities:

Prepares loan and collateral documentation for various loan types and structures including lines of credit, term loans, commercial mortgages, construction loans, and equipment loans.

Prepares loan commitment letters for approved business loans.

Analyzes loan transactions and works with our counsel to assist preparing legal documents required to close business loans. Ensures loans are documented and closed according to the credit approval.

Performs appropriate due diligence tasks and ensures conditions precedents are met prior to closing and funding a loan or making future advances on business loans.

Collaborates with internal and external counsel, title companies, and the Accounting Department to meet funding and wiring requirements for closings on commercial loans.

Manages and clears post-closing legal documentation exceptions in compliance with Suncoast Credit Union policy.

Prepares loan satisfactions and records the same with government entities.

Assists business members with questions related their business loans and acts as a liaison for them with business lenders and internal and outside legal counsel. Assists service center staff with business lending questions.

Monitors construction projects throughout their draw period.

Acts as department’s subject matter expert on ComplianceOne loan documentation software.

Performs accounting reconciliations of business lending accounts for business, conventional, and SBA guaranteed loans.

Prepares loan files to be scanned and indexed.

Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union. Completes annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field. (A compatible combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)

Five or more years in a commercial lending environment preparing loan and collateral documentation. Experience in commercial construction loans required. Experience with loan participations desired.

Paralegal certification desired.

In depth knowledge of commercial loan operations, systems, policies, and procedures.

Experience with ComplianceOne loan documentation software preferred.

Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to analyze and resolve difficult and sometimes complex problems and situations.

Strong knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.

Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.

Strong knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.

Works independently with limited supervision.
