Overview:
Assist Plant Operations by completing maintenance and repairs on equipment and doing preventative maintenance. The schedule for this position is 2-2-3 (12-hour shifts) overnight 6 pm - 6:30 am.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
5+ years of technical experience working in a manufacturing environment
Processing and Manufacturing Maintenance Technician: 5 years (Preferred)
Electrical, Pneumatic, Steam, Hydraulic and Automation: 5 years (Preferred)
Knowledge of electrical/electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, steam and pneumatic systems
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime as required
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to accurately perform basic computations
Expertise in handling multiple projects and daily activities with timelines
Demonstrated willingness to vocalize and review problems with supervisor and cross-functional team members in order to determine the best course of action
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequent work in a hot and humid production environment
Occasional work required outside in various temperatures
This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines
Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members
All safety procedures in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting, standing, walking, repetitive use of hands/arms/legs, and eye/hand coordination for 6+ hours a day.
Ability to lift or carry up to 75 pounds
Occasional bending, reaching overhead, crouching, balancing, pushing, or pulling
Able to access all areas of the plant including the roof and areas above equipment
Ability to operate cars, trucks, forklifts, and other powered equipment and tools
Must be able to wear all PPE that is required
Responsibilities:
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical/electronic equipment (i.e. motors, servo systems, frequency drives, analog devices, network communication)
Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic equipment
Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic equipment
Maintain and troubleshoot steam and boiler equipment
Proficient in reading electrical, pneumatic, steam, hydraulic and automation drawings
Perform a wide range of mechanical repairs (i.e. conveyors, pumps, valves, mechanical drives)
Perform and document preventative maintenance activities
Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment
Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn complex manufacturing systems
Lead process improvement projects
On-call manufacturing support for maintenance after hours and weekends
Ability to work overtime as scheduled
Adhere to all safety standards (i.e. permit to work, lock-out and tag-out procedures)
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Proficiency in interpreting RSLogix and Factorytalk programming a plus
Proficiency in TIG and stick welding and stainless steel metal working a plus
Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems a plus
Other duties as assigned
