Job Title: Maintenance Technicians
Pay rate: £17.64 per hour PAYE or £23.10 per hour Umbrella
Job Location: Cambridge
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:30 Days or Monday to Thursday 18.00 - 04.30am Nights
Duration: Up to 6 months
Start Dates: ASAP

Position Summary
* Based from Cambridge depot, but travelling to and from our customers depots in Ely to provide exams and technical support on a daily basis. Travelling time from my clients depot to the customers depots is included in the roster times.
* Responsible for the exam work, preventative maintenance, and corrective action of the customers units under direction of the Team Leader.
* Ensuring unit availability for wheel turning runs
* Carrying out the required rectification.
* Ensuring that the customers depot safety plans and other depot specific safety instructions are followed.
* Setting up of a safe system of work each day when working offsite.
* Any other depot duties as and when required.
* Support other workstreams as and when required at other customer locations.
* Deputising for the Team leader when required.

Key Responsibilities will include:
* Carry out work as allocated by the Team Leader within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
* Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction.
* Ensure that work sheets and electronic work recording documentation is signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work.
* Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
* Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring that the necessary action is taken on items raised.
* Undertake Safety Critical Work Regulations assessments under the guidance of the Team Leader, taking remedial action where necessary.
* Carry out any duties within level of competence, as requested by the Team Leader
* Always maintain good housekeeping and standard of cleanliness throughout ATC and customer depots.
* Use of all PPE in accordance with standards and local instructions
* Assist as directed by Team Leader to ensure rolling stock availability / reliability targets are met.
* Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications
* You must have a minimum of or equivalent to one of the following qualifications:
o BTEC certificate in Engineering
o City and Guilds certificate in Engineering
o NVQ Level 3 certificate in Engineering
* Traction and rolling stock qualification preferred.

Skills and Experience
* Must have previous experience, involvement and understanding of vehicle heavy maintenance activities.
* Able to interpret engineering drawings
* Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering
* Basic IT skills
