An opportunity is available at Wellington for a Corrugator Lead Operational Team Leader to join the team. The role is responsible for meeting the production plan for their department, working closely with other OTL’s and the Operation’s Manager to ensure productivity, waste, and process improvement targets are achieved. The OTL will lead and develop direct reports and must work to and ensure others work to all HSE & ISO requirements and operating / process standards.

About the role

* Ensuring the effective running of the production function daily

* Have flexibility in working hours to suit the needs of the department.

* Be responsible for organising crewing in collaboration with shift OTL’s

* Develop the team and oversee a training plan to ensure strong, multi-skilled and balanced shifts

* Develop the team and department to deliver the site production plan in line with divisional/group initiatives to achieve service excellence

* The co-ordination of work activities within the team, making appropriate decisions for the customers and exceeding their expectations

* Responsible for driving productivity through effective monitoring of process performance to ensure the production plan can be delivered

* Direct line leadership of the Corrugator team members including performance management, absence management and reporting in collaboration with shift OTL’s

* Undertake the annual performance review process with learning and development needs identified for Corrugator OTL’s and support them in the process for the Corrugator operators.

* Build strong working relationships and team working with all other departments within the Wellington site

* Ensure team understanding of a business goals and service demands through strong and effective communication, providing a forum for collaboration working and extending that collaborative working within the network as required

* Work closely with the Corrugator Engineering OTL to ensure the Corrugator is maintained to the highest standards and the preventative and remedial action plans are actioned and clearly communicated to the wider team

* Represent Wellington in the “Corrugator Champions” network

* Be the site Waste facilitator

* Complete site metrics and KPI’s associated with the Corrugator and site waste

* Be accountable for the Reel Store, ensuring the stock is accurate, paper complaints are raised, and the quarantine area is controlled.

* Learn production planning and ordering paper to support the functionality of the Wellington leadership team.

* Maintain the highest housekeeping and compliance standards for all areas of the Reel Store, Corrugator, Baler and designated outside yard area.

Skills & experience required

Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment

Strong technical knowledge of the Corrugator

Display a strong safety ethos

Be a strong team player

Knowledge of MS Office tools, including MS Excel

Possess strong organisational skills

Ability to communicate at all levels of the business and to brief their team as necessary
