All About the Role

Based at our Barrett Steel, Bristol site, the purpose of this role is to carry out driving & related duties involved with the carriage of goods within a defined geographical area. This is a multi- drop role, and the hours are

Monday to Friday 6am – 3.45 pm plus overtime when required

Specific tasks include:

To oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
Ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed & returned without delay.
To check the load security & weight distribution according to latest safe working practices during the shift.
To ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
Ensures vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use, & are operated in a safe manner.
Limited manual handling, within company guidelines.
Adherence to all required health and safety standards at all times both on and off the premises
Support the warehouse staff when needed

All About You

Essential Skills for the role:

To hold a valid HGV Class 2 Licence (with no more than 6 points).
Own an up-to-date Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card.
Knowledge of working time directive and compliant with driver’s hours rules and regulations.
Previous experience in a warehousing or distribution business.
Understanding and experience of EHS requirements.
Multi-Drop experience
Ability to complete manual handling and loading, within company guidelines.
