About the Role

As part of your role, you will:

Develop Ethical Ranges: Create diverse product ranges that meet eco-friendly, organic, and fair-trade criteria across various price points.
Price & Sales Management: Maximise profitability and stock turnover through pricing strategies, sales forecasting, and margin protection.
Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers throughout the year and at trade shows, and secure favourable terms, including pricing, MOQs, and supply chain efficiencies.
Range Reviews: Regularly review and optimise product offerings based on market trends and sales data. Track competitors and adjust product ranges and pricing in response to market changes and NPD.
Promotional Planning: Coordinate a promotional calendar with suppliers, aligning discounts with the annual marketing plan.
Marketing Collaboration: Work with the digital marketing and the design team to integrate product ranges into online campaigns, emails, and social media.
Catalogue Production: Assist with seasonal catalogue production and sell advertising space to enhance brand visibility and sales.
Product Setup & Merchandising: Ensure accurate and visually appealing product setups across all websites in collaboration with the content team.
Stock Management: Work with the stock controller to manage inventory, minimise stockouts, and prevent oversupply during promotions.

Essential Skills

Graduate (or equivalent) with proven experience as a buyer or junior buyer in a retail environment and at least 3 years of buying experience
A quick thinker who makes successful commercial decisions to meet targets
A business-like approach, with honesty, tact, and diplomacy when negotiating and a proven track record of having a positive impact on business through buying strategy
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Highly computer literate, with excellent communication skills
Strong numerical skills with the ability to interpret statistics and make commercial decisions

Desirable Skills

Experience buying within a consumer web-based or mail-order business
Experience working in a creative or entrepreneurial work environment
Interest and knowledge in ethical, organic, and natural beauty and cleaningBring your experience to an ethical retailer and make a positive impact as you continue your career; apply for this buyer role today.
