Job Title: Glass Processor

Reporting to: Factory Manager

Location: Park Royal, NW London

Salary: £25-£35k Basic Salary depending on experience, 21 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, Pension, Mon-Fri 7am-4pm Overtime available.

We are delighted to be recruiting again for an established family-run interior glass processing
company in NW London with a history that spans over 100 years. They deliver unique and beautifully
made glass and glazing projects to the residential and commercial market and everything in
between. They are a recognised source of diverse glass and mirror products and a combination of
skills and cutting-edge technology allows their team to produce a whole range of bespoke glass
products from royal palaces to mega yachts!

The Role: Glass Processor

As a Glass Processor you will need to have a sound and thorough knowledge of the different glass types and thickness available with a clear understanding of Metric and Imperial Measurements. You will need to be able to interpret manufacturing details provided for production and be able to achieve the correct finished product.

You will be reporting to the Factory Manager to enable the smooth flow of Production through the section you are responsible for, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work in your care.

As a Glass Processor you are required to be able to fulfill all roles that you have been signed off as to be able to operate independently in a safe and proficient manner.

Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Performance Levels

* Ensure the glass is suitable for production by checking the quality of the glass against the measurements and instructions on the works order document, label and drawings (if received). Any ambiguities should be notified to the Factory Manager before the commencement of any work

* Ensure all machines are set correctly for the glass being processed in accordance with the guidelines outlined in competence training you will receive

* Quality check the glass to ensure no damage has occurred during your production phase, which would necessitate the product being rejected at any subsequent stage

* Inform the Factory Manager of any issues that may cause a delay in meeting deadlines at the earliest possible opportunity

* You will be required to use various pieces of equipment and should do so following all safe working capacities and H&S guidelines

* Maintain machines and equipment in your care on a daily and weekly basis in line with instructions

* You will be required to read the company’s Health and Safety Manual on commencement of your duties. You will be expected to adhere to it in all cases using personal discretion to maintain your own safety and the safety of others at all times

* You will be responsible for keeping any area you are working in clean and tidy and take collective responsibility to support others in improving the cleanliness and general standards of the entire workshop

* Hours will be as set in the contract of employment with additional hours required from time to time to manage the workload

* Be prepared to carry out other duties as required

Organisational Alignment

* Reports to the Factory Manager

* Foster close, co-operative relationships with management and other senior executives to ensure the company is continually striving to improve its perception in the marketplace

Hours of Work

7.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday
