Radio Communications Installation and Repair Engineer

A vacancy that works both out in the field on customer sites, alongside the workshop based at our client’s site in St Ives. The vacancy focuses on repairing and rectifying faults on radio and communication systems (Motorola & Hytera), alongside the installation and commissioning of products on customer sites. If you have worked in an industry that focuses on electronic, telecommunications, radio or networking then we would love to hear from you as training will be provided!

Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire

Hours: 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday - Friday

Hourly Rate / Salary: £25,000 - £30,000

Benefits: Company Van, Fuel Card, Uniform, Smartphone, Laptop, Pension, 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays which increases with service.

Duration: Permanent

Working as part of a team of 8 Engineers you will undergo a rigorous training programme during the first 6 months of employment, this will be provided both on site and via system partners on specific products. PLEASE NOTE: You will be required to take part in an on-call rota and a DBS check will be required to be completed for this vacancy so a clear history for vetting purposes is important.

Duties:

* Repairing / rectifying faults on radio communication systems

* System installation, test and commissioning

* System fault tracing and rectification

* Liaison with clients, manufacturers and 3rd party suppliers

* Telephone / remote PC technical support for clients

* Technical administration and preparing technical documentation

* Providing clear and accurate reports to colleagues

* Working at height

Skills and Experience Required:

* Experience of working with DMR radio systems from Motorola Solutions and Hytera

* Strong working knowledge of Linux, IP and computer systems including TCP/IP, networking and command line

* Working knowledge of radio dispatch solutions

* Happy to consider trips away from home, whilst working on customer’s sites

* Experience with Systems and Distributed Antenna Networking is advantageous
