IMH currently seeking a General Operative to join our client in Barnsley in a fast-paced metals environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the production process and ensuring the smooth operation of the facility.
The Role:
1. A basic understanding of health and safety
2. Must be able to work in a team and as an individual.
3. This will involve a considerable amount of manual work.
4. Sorting different grades of metals and placing them in the correct receptacle.
5. Oxy propane cutting experience, but not essential as training will be given to the correct candidate.
6. Forklift licence and experience of working in a busy environment, but not essential as training will be given to the correct candidate.
7. Training will be given to the correct candidate.
8. Clean driving licence.
Duties:
1. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor/Manager.
2. Maintain compliance with the company policies and procedures.
3. Apply with Health and Safety standards.
4. Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal members of staff.
About You:
* Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team
* Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
* Good communication skills to liaise with colleagues and supervisors
* Basic understanding of health and safety regulations
* Physical fitness for manual handling tasks
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures
* Physical actions, such as bending, pushing,pulling,reaching, standing for extended periods.
Hours & Pay
* Monday to Friday 08:00am - 16:30pm
* Starting salary £11.44 per hour.
* Please note that if you are successful this is subject to a drug and alcohol test. *
