Summary:
The Rig Service Specialist combines the technical abilities of a service mechanic with the customer-centered approach of a phone support specialist. This position requires a unique blend of hands-on mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to effectively communicate with end users to provide comprehensive support for technical drilling equipment.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on rigs and related equipment
Provide phone support to customers, guiding them through troubleshooting procedures
Maintain detailed records of service interactions, solutions provided, and follow-up actions
Timely input of machine related customer interactions into system
Work collaboratively with a team.
Continuously learn and stay updated on the latest industry developments and technologies.
Willing to travel (Fly or Drive) to customers experiencing technical issues in the field. (This does not happen regularly, but sometimes happens on short notice)
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Able to work 45-hour work week
Requirements
Traits of the Ideal Candidate
Proven experience as a service mechanic with strong mechanical and electrical skills.
Energized by helping others succeed.
Experience in customer service or phone support roles preferred.
Willing to travel and work on equipment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software.
Experience with SAP software is a plus.
