The Fire Alarm Technician installs, maintains, and repairs fire alarm systems in commercial buildings. They also ensure that the system is compliant with relevant codes, laws, and regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
Installation: Install or upgrade fire alarms
Testing: Inspect and test systems, batteries, and electrical wiring
Maintenance: Perform diagnostics and repairs
Compliance: Ensure compliance with NFPA and other codes
Documentation: Complete inspection reports and maintain records
Training: Instruct employees on how to use and maintain the systems
Response: Respond to emergency service calls
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
Demonstrated knowledge of fire and electrical codes
Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
A clean driving record and the ability to meet the company’s insurance requirements
