Job Summary:
The Senior IT Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficient operation of the organization's computer systems and networks. This role involves planning, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure, providing technical support to end-users, and leading a team of systems administrators. The Senior Systems Administrator also plays a key role in identifying and implementing IT best practices and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
System Administration:Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system availability and reliability.
Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Network Management:Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Troubleshoot network issues, optimize network performance, and ensure network security.
Implement and maintain network access controls and policies.
Security Management:Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Respond to and mitigate security incidents and breaches.
Team Leadership:Lead and mentor a team of systems administrators, providing guidance and training.
Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to achieve organizational goals.
Technical Support:Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Assist in the development and maintenance of IT documentation and knowledge base.
Project Management:Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Compliance and Documentation:Ensure compliance with relevant IT regulations, standards, and security policies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation and configurations.
On-Call Responsibilities:Participate in the on-call rotation, to provide service for critical outages.
Follow the on-call policy for response time, and other items as outlined.
