Overview:

The Warehouse Manager I is responsible for establishing and executing AIT's strategy related to domestic, international and cartage freight warehouse operations through an understanding of industry trends and best practices. May work with international, domestic and/or cartage operations staff and internal AIT functions to provide the best overall warehouse services. Execution of those strategies includes establishing, measuring and managing to applicable metrics with all station staff, AIT vendors and internal AIT functions to ensure timely, efficient flow of warehouse operations for AIT. This role will manage a warehouse of 30,000 Sq FT and a total of 15 warehouse workers teammates.

Responsibilities:

Manage warehouse operations staff in the day-to-day activities of Domestic and/or International, Value Added Service, and Cartage Freight Warehouse and Department personnel

Review and suggest changes to staff as needed to ensure the warehouse department is able to meet company goals. This is accomplished through one on one and department meetings

Provide a cost effective and efficient freight in / out flow system supporting AIT inbound and outbound transportation requirements

Meet directly with local warehouse supplier/tools/equipment providers through all communication levels (email, phone, meeting, provider site visits). Utilize negotiation and communication skills to obtain desired results

Research and resolve customer problems and complaints on domestic and cartage issues

Develop an AIT baseline of operations and benchmark to industry standards for AIT logistics areas such as warehousing for domestic and/or international helping to identify opportunities for cost and service improvement. Reach out to peers through attendance of seminars, industry events, education settings and corporate contact

Achieve warehouse expense goals by working with various AIT internal groups to develop, implement and monitor warehousing logistic metrics

Provide an effective warehousing system that delivers a high level of service to both external and internal customers. Identify opportunities within the affected areas and implement new solutions through project management protocols and elimination of constraints

Maximize efficiencies and ensure process flow with warehouse employees, inbound and outbound operations, and cartage operations. This also includes client customer service on key warehouse accounts

Ensure safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures

Participate in the interview process for potential candidate along with onboarding process of new teammates

Qualifications:

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience Qualifications

5+ years experience in Warehouse Management Required and

3+ years experience in domestic and/or international and cartage freight forwarding warehousing services Required

Skills and Abilities

Domestic and/or international and cartage freight forwarding warehousing services experience (Medium proficiency)

Microsoft Office Suite (Medium proficiency)
