Project Manager role based in Birkenhead. Working for an industrial engineering company in the steel fabrication sector.

Our client is a leading industrial engineering and steel fabrication company based in Birkenhead

Description

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager within our Manufacturing and construction part of the business and are keen to receive applicants for this role. We are looking for a person with the right can do attitude, a problem solver who can develop good customer working relationships whilst maintaining stringent high standards and protecting the company's vision and values using leading edge technology and innovation across all areas of our business.

The key responsibilities for the role are;-

· Senior accountable owner for the relationship with our customers, such as MoD and Military new build, manufacturing prime contractors.

· Collaboration and liaison with other Project Managers and members of the senior leadership team.

· Ability to take ownership and accountability of allocated projects to ensure delivery of the technical and financial performance whilst having the backing of a supportive team and working closely with the senior leadership.

· Ensuring Design, Engineering and stringent quality standards are maintained.

· Accountable for project wide Estimating covering all aspects such as technical development, supply chain, risks, variations including additional scope etc.

· Senior representative attending customer meeting cover all project aspects and levels of seniority within the customer organisation.

· Interface conduit for Production, Technical and quality areas to ensure effective project management, visibility and controls.

· Lead the project team and manage the supply chain to deliver projects to time, meeting cost and quality targets and CL standards.

· Represent the company as the project commercial first point of contact.

· Delivering continuous improvement of project management processes and practices.

Profile

· Experience of leading projects from inception to completion, covering Estimating, Technical, Financial, Stakeholder Management.

· Must have a working knowledge of the procedures and processes undertaken in shipyards and knowledge of shipyard trade skills and their scopes of work.

· Commercial awareness and experience in working with Customers quantity Surveyors.

· Knowledge of current legislation relating to the maritime industry is desirable.

· Demonstrate knowledge of estimating projects in a heavy engineering environment.

· Preferable experience of MoD single source contracting and SSRO requirements.

· Experience in building and expanding a project team to meet additional scope demands.

· Maintaining a good proactive working relationship while developing the project team.

·Project Managers in the aerospace, defence, maritime, automotive and heavy engineering sectors will be considered.

· Steel Fabrication exposure with these roles will also be considered as advantageous.

Job Offer

£70,000 to £80,000 plus bonus and benefits
