Hours: Mon – Fri 0830 – 1700 Hrs (No Weekends)

Job description

We have a vacancy for a field service coffee machine engineer within a very busy service department. This position is based at the company’s office in Cambridge, the successful candidate will therefore be easily commutable to this location.

The focused service area is within a 50-mile radius of Cambridge; however, they do have customers all over the UK and occasionally long-distance travel is necessary.

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated and well-presented individual, who will provide attention to detail and be able to hit the ground running.

Applicants will have a good knowledge of the vending/coffee service industry.

Previous Field Service experience is essential

As a Coffee Machine Field Service Engineer, you will be performing reactive and planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of bean-to-cup coffee and traditional coffee machines.

This includes machines made by manufacturers such as Jura, Franke, Bravilor, Coffetek, Azkoyen and Iberital experience of these manufacturers will be highly advantageous.

You will provide a high quality of service to all customers and actively contribute to the overall improvements of the business by servicing and maintaining equipment to a high standard. As a Field Service Coffee Machine Engineer your goal is to limit the volume of equipment failure through correct service and maintenance, achieving excellent first-time fix levels. Your ultimate goal is for the business to receive zero client complaints regarding technical reliability for machines deemed to be within your area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

* Respond in a timely manner to reactive service, planned maintenance and installation calls in our area.

* Provide engineering excellence to all customers

* To diagnose and repair faults on a complete range of coffee and vending equipment

* To ensure that whenever possible all work is completed at the first visit ensuring that every effort is made to prevent further breakdowns. If a return visit is necessary to complete any work the return visit must be carried out at the soonest opportunity

* Continually review multiple fault equipment and ensure that any machine that displays persistent breakdowns is given the highest priority regarding repair

* Ensure all breakdowns are responded to within the required time

* To attend all calls to fit parts as soon as you are informed parts are available

* To hold and maintain the required level of spare parts on your vehicle when instructed

* To form and maintain a close working relationship with colleagues and clients with a view to providing the best possible service to our clients

* To attend various Training Courses to assist you to maintain the highest standard of workmanship

* Willing and able to work on your own initiative

* Maintain good customer relations by adopting a pleasant manner at all times. Adhere to customer procedures e.g. entry/exit from premises & Health & Safety Policies where appropriate

* Be aware of any potential cases of customer dissatisfaction and take appropriate action (repair machine/seek assistance from Senior Engineer/Service Manager) to avoid the potential becoming actual dissatisfaction

* Deal with any complaints in an appropriate manner and ensure that they are addressed as quickly as possible reporting incidents of customer dissatisfaction to your line manager

* Knowledge of Jura, Franke, Bravilor, Coffetek, Azkoyen and Iberital machines would be a distinct advantage

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

* Previous experience working as Coffee/ vending Machine Service Engineer, Commercial Coffee machine engineer or Coffee Machine Service Engineer.

* Full UK Driver's Licence

* Commutable daily to Cambridge

Trainee Field Service Engineer Position

Salary: £24,000

This is a great opportunity to gain experience, knowledge and support within a fast pace and growing industry

You will have the opportunity to learn how to repair, service and install a variety of coffee and hot beverage equipment whilst also supporting the field service team by replacing water filters and carrying out water cooler sanitisations. You will also support the product delivery team and support covering holidays and sickness.

This is an extremely varied role and will give the right candidate an insight into all operations of an established coffee distributor and therefore going forward offers the potential for career progression into a variety of different roles.

A background in mechanical or electrical engineering including applications from a white goods background would be advantageous however, attitude is most important and full training will be given as will a company phone, uniform and tools.

Please note you will be required to drive the company’s vehicles; due to insurance purposes the applicant must hold a full UK driving licence for a period of at least 2 years.
