Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Herne Bay, Kent Salary: £45-55k

We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a leading company specializing in wireless fire detection and evacuation products. Located in Herne Bay, Kent—the stunning "Garden of England"—this role offers the chance to make a significant impact in developing innovative technologies that protect lives and properties.

About the Role:
This role is within a dynamic business unit that focuses on creating state-of-the-art wireless fire detection products that communicate without cables using industry-leading radio technology. As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will have the opportunity to bring your embedded hardware design expertise to life, contributing to the creation of new and innovative products. You will have access to excellent test and prototyping facilities, allowing you to quickly design, prototype, and verify your designs and see them deployed in real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Designing, integrating, and releasing new wireless fire detection products, including panels, sensors, communication devices, and user interfaces.
Developing specifications for electronic products, assemblies, and parts.
Creating schematic drawings and PCB layouts using Altium Designer CAD software.
Integrating existing technologies into new product designs.
Planning and conducting tests to ensure products meet performance and reliability goals.
Ensuring regulatory and safety compliance by preparing necessary documentation for third-party approvals.
Resolving design and component-related production issues and supporting manufacturing processes.
Optimizing product designs to enhance performance, reduce costs, and improve production efficiency.
Providing accurate estimates and scope of work for project management to support effective planning of product development programs. Who We’re Looking For:
Must-Haves:

Advanced knowledge of embedded electronics design obtained through a recognized university degree.
Proficiency in creating complex circuit designs and schematic drawings using modern CAD tools.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in embedded hardware design. Nice-to-Haves:

Experience working with battery-powered devices.
Experience with RF designs and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Familiarity with embedded software and automated testing methods for cross-functional team collaboration. What We Offer:
