Science Technician
Bradford, BD9
* Full time 37 hours per week
* Permanent (term time only+ 2 days)
* NJC scale 3 point 5 to 6 - £19,904 to £20,596 (pay award pending)

The Role
As a Science Technician, you'll be assisting in the preparation and smooth running of practical science lessons, supporting both teachers and students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare solutions, materials, and cultures for practical lessons
* Assemble apparatus for experiments
* Conduct risk assessments for technical activities
* Assist teachers during practical classes
* Maintain stock levels and identify future requirements
* Organise and deliver resources to classrooms
* Ensure the safe disposal of waste materials
* Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment
* Care for living organisms and plants used in experiments
* Provide first aid and attend appropriate training

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone positive and helpful, with strong organisational skills. You should be a team player who can adapt to changing situations and solve problems quickly. You will have:
* Technical qualifications or equivalent experience
* GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above)
* Computer literacy
* Willingness to undertake First Aid training
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual community
