My client is a renowned specialist in the Passive Fire Protection market, who cover Commercial Businesses across the UK; and are committed to delivering full-service fire protection to the highest possible standards. Their goal is to provide exceptional value to their customers, protecting lives and property. Their customers know that passive fire protection plays a massive role in all building design and therefore having a compliant contractor on hand ready to assist is key, should the need ever arise. Due to this ever-growing unique market, they’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to help spearhead their projects in the Yorkshire regions.

The Role

They are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Quantity Surveyor with a solid understanding of Passive Fire Protection to join their dynamic team. The role is dual-focused, encompassing both Quantity Surveyor and Estimator responsibilities. You will manage the financial aspects of fire protection projects while also playing a critical role in preparing and submitting tenders for new opportunities. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing projects in Yorkshire and the North, ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and financial reporting, while also contributing to the growth of the business through accurate estimations.

Qualifications

* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator within the construction, Passive Fire Protection or Fitout industry.

Key Responsibilities:

* Quantity Surveying:

* Manage the full lifecycle of multiple projects, from initial cost planning to final account.

* Measure, value, submit, and negotiate contract variations.

* Prepare detailed monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and valuations.

* Ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time, monitoring costs and revenues.

* Work closely with the contracts team to maintain clear communication and a shared understanding of project goals.

* Conduct risk assessments and provide solutions for mitigating financial risks.

* Estimating:

* Review tender documentation and assess the scope of work for Passive Fire Protection projects.

* Prepare accurate and competitive tenders, quotations, and pricing schedules.

* Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and ensure competitive pricing.

* Maintain and update cost databases for materials and labour to ensure accurate estimations.

* Attend site visits and client meetings to fully understand project requirements.

* Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors.

* Provide clear, concise, and transparent communication to stakeholders regarding project progress, cost, and financial forecasts.

Permanent Position offering a competitive salary plus benefits package to the successful candidate (£40,000 - £45,000 + Package)
