This leading UK Landscape Contractor requires an experienced Director of Operations with a background within Landscaping and an understanding of the industry. As the successful candidate you will be working remotely, covering the south of the UK. Attendance to the East Sussex office one day a week, with annual site visits to locations across the main areas of the UK such as Bristol and across to East Anglia – only when required.
As the successful candidate you will had experience with running
This leading UK Landscape Contractor requires an experienced Director of Operations with a background within Landscaping and a good understanding of the industry. As the successful candidate you will have the opportunity to progress to director level after a period of time.
You will be covering London and the South East sites with experience of overseeing multiple projects for landscape installations with commercial projects.
As the successful candidate you will had experience with running soft landscaping with a turnover of at least £10m per annum and be responsible for the following:
Core Duties:
* Management of Contracts Managers, and operations support staff to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
* Management of operational process to achieve targets.
* Ability to work with commercial management to issue accurate information to clients and Director and senior managers.
* Client liaison to meet expectations in relation to project completion and additional work opportunities.
* Oversee day-to-day operational running of the company.
* Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve productivity and efficiency.
* Overall control and responsibility of labour spending and allocation.
* Team coordination and effective communication across management and teams.
* To be capable of resolving operation issues, with prompt action taken when required.
* Monitoring performance and taking prompt action when required.
* To manage projects according to budgets and targets as required by the business.
* Understand Health and Safety legislation and lead with a safety-first approach to manage risk.
* Manage in accordance with the businesses quality and environmental management system, ensuring compliance practice and records are maintained within the operations team.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other external partners. – Ensure relationships with supply partners are maintained.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the operations team.
* Overall responsibility for quality of works produced and maintaining client satisfaction.
Requirements:
* UK driving licence
* CSCS
* SMSTS
* Advantage – IOSH / Nebosh
