My client is looking for a skilled and reliable Electrical Tester to join their growing team. The Electrical Tester will be responsible for testing, inspecting, and certifying electrical installations in line with the current regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will ensure all work is carried out safely, and accurately, and meets the high standards of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct testing and inspection of electrical installations across various sites.
* Carry out fixed wire testing and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
* Prepare and issue Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
* Ensure compliance with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
* Fault finding, diagnosis, and remedial works on existing installations.
* Liaise with site managers, contractors, and clients to ensure testing schedules are met.
* Ensure all work is completed within the timeframes required by the client.
* Keep up-to-date with current industry regulations and standards.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles as required.
* Provide feedback and reports to the electrical supervisor or project manager.
* Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Provide technical support and guidance to apprentices and junior staff where applicable.
Essential:
* Fully qualified Electrician (City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5).
* Up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition).
* Proven experience in electrical testing and certification.
* Ability to produce and interpret EICR reports accurately.
* Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to testing.
* Full UK driving license.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
Desirable:
* Experience working within commercial or industrial environments.
* ECS/JIB card holder.
* Additional certifications in fire alarm testing, emergency lighting, etc.
* Familiarity with tablet or software-based testing systems.
Location: Blackburn (Mainly North-West Region with occasional National Travel).
Monday to Friday
