Job Title: Intraoperative Endoscopy Registered Nurse

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts with rotating start times (6 AM or 9 AM)

Pay: $84.00 per hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intraoperative Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our team in Palo Alto. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in assisting with a variety of endoscopic procedures and must be capable of functioning effectively in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures such as ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection), ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), EMR (Endoscopic Mucosal Resection), Sigmoidoscopy, POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy), Colonoscopy, EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound), and EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy).

Prepare patients for surgery including IV insertion, management of preoperative oral and IV medications, and obtaining patient consent for surgery.

Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac status during procedures, manage medications, and provide support for patients with special needs such as unaccompanied minors and those requiring wheelchair assistance.

Assist in the recovery of patients post-procedure in the PACU, administer pain medications, monitor vital signs, and prepare patients for discharge.

Requirements:

Minimum of two years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

Must possess at least two years of inpatient intra-op experience with the ability to assist during complex therapeutic procedures, specifically ERCP.

Active California RN License is required.

BLS and ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Must have substantial experience with both Upper and Lower GI procedures.

Ability to perform in the "Tech" role for advanced cases, demonstrating proficiency in technical skills and patient care.

Desired Skills:

Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and physicians.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing circumstances.
