GPW Recruitment are actively seeking a dedicated estimator on behalf of a well established highways structure specialist, based in Wakefield.
Our client are nationally recognised, carrying out repairs to bridges and other highway structures all over the UK.
The succesful estimator will be pivotal in assisting the company to secure new business and supporting the commercial function.
Our client offer an extensive benefits package such as a competitive salary of £30,000-£40,000 per annum + car allowance (or the possibility of a company car).
Experience in civils is NOT essential. Our client will consider candidates from other areas of construction, and even graduates.
General Responsibilities:
* Reading civil engineering design drawings
* Material takes off’s and tender summaries
* Obtaining supplier quotations and negotiating
* Preparing quotations to meet deadlines
* Drafting detailed quotation
* Liaising with clients to discuss the tender submissions
* Quantifying material take offs and producing costs analysis for clients and the management team.
* Monthly job costing forecasts and analysis
* Attending client meetings and occasional site visits
* Assisting with monthly applications and final accounts
