Network Engineer
Cisco R&S - OSPF - BGP - HSRP - Monitoring - Fortinet - CCNA - CCNP - Network Design - £65k - £80k + Benefits
*This role is 5 days a week in the London City office*
I am seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to join my London City based client who are a Trading Venue, the ideal candidate will come from a similar Banking or Trading background and have experience in Low-Latency/High Availability environments. The Network Engineer will report to the Head of IT Infrastructure and will collaborate with developers, project stakeholders, and operations to build out the network infrastructure for their highly regulated trading venue.
Responsibilities:
- Provision and support of Exchange infrastructure (Switches, Routers, Firewalls)
- Work with Cisco, Arista, and Fortinet products
- Provide second-line support and monitoring for Exchange infrastructure
- Assist Exchange Operations team with daily operations and issue resolution
- Implement corporate security policies in collaboration with the Security team
- Lead projects to improve production environments
- Create technical documentation
- Contribute to design and architecture discussions
- Participate in shift work and on-call support as needed
Requirements:
- 5+ years in network administration and deployment
- Experience with low-latency environments is highly desirable
- Proficient in network protocols: OSPF, BGP, BFD, VRRP, HSRP, RSTP
- Knowledge of multicast architecture and protocols (PIM-SM, IGMP v2)
- Experience with multi-VRF environments
- Familiarity with Zabbix or similar monitoring platforms
- Experience managing Firewall appliances, preferably Fortinet
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to write clear, concise documentation
- Vendor management experience
- Experience in Financial Services/FinTech or similar high-pressure industry
- Strong command of spoken and written English
