For one of the main banking clients based in Utrecht we are looking for an Solution Architect to carry out the infra automation of solutions.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Automation:

• Design and implement automated infrastructure solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop frameworks for automating deployment, monitoring, and scaling of infrastructure (using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
• Optimize the use of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for infrastructure services.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to drive continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices across the infrastructure.

Storage Solutions:

• Architect scalable, secure, and high-performing storage solutions to meet the bank's data needs.
• Design storage architectures (SAN, NAS, Object Storage) that can handle the demands of modern banking services.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for storage.

Data Lake Development:

• Architect and implement a scalable, resilient, and secure data lake infrastructure to support data analytics and machine learning initiatives.
• Integrate the data lake with various data sources, ensuring Real Time and batch processing capabilities.

Network Integration:

• Ensure the infrastructure and storage solutions are seamlessly integrated into the bank's network architecture.
• Collaborate with network engineers to design network topologies that support low-latency, high-availability access to storage and data lake resources.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

• Work closely with various stakeholders, including IT operations, data engineering, and security teams, to align architectural strategies with business objectives.
• Serve as the technical advisor on infrastructure projects, providing guidance on best practices, tools, and technologies.

Security & Compliance:

• Ensure all infrastructure solutions comply with relevant banking regulations and industry standards (ISO, GDPR, etc.).
• Implement security best practices across automation, storage, and data lake solutions, ensuring data integrity and protection.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, with a strong focus on infrastructure automation, storage solutions, and data lake architectures.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing automated infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Deep understanding of storage architectures (SAN, NAS, Object Storage) and their integration with cloud and on-premise systems.
• Hands-on experience with data lake technologies (eg, Hadoop, Spark, AWS S3, Azure Data Lake).
• Familiarity with network design, including VPNs, Firewalls, load balancers, and network security.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and guide technical and non-technical teams.
