Role:
Our client, a prominent player in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a Software Product Support Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This role is a 6-month contract, requiring the individual to work fully onsite, contributing to advanced defence system projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the deployment and maintenance of in-service middleware solutions
Investigating and resolving software issues swiftly and efficiently
Debugging complex software systems, collaborating with a team to find solutions
Configuring and maintaining Linux Operating Systems, ensuring security solutions are up to date
Providing technical support across land and maritime projects, contributing to some of the most advanced missile systems worldwide
Ensuring clear communication of technical matters to non-technical stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Proficiency in C or C++, JavaScript, and shell scripting languages
Extensive experience with Linux OSs (Redhat and/or Ubuntu), including kernel configuration and testing
Strong background in software engineering, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving
Clear and effective communication skills, particularly in conveying technical details to non-technical audiences
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to resolve technical issues
