* Location: Stockport

* Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 per year

* Hours: 37.5 hours per week working days + occasional overtime

At 5S Recruitment, we’re partnering with a well established engineering business to find an experienced Conventional Centre Lathe Turner to join their expanding workshop. If you're experienced within precision machining and want to work in a well-equipped, clean and bright machine shop, this could be the ideal role for you.

About the Role:
As Conventional Centre Lathe Turner you'll be working to machine parts for a variety of industries, predominantly oil and gas, with parts being shipped across the UK and internationally. This is your chance to work on one-off projects and small batch work, perfect for anyone who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Plus, if you’re looking to develop your skills further, in-house CNC training will be provided!

Key Responsibilities as Conventional Centre Lathe Turner:

* Accurate measurement using precision tools

* Improve productivity and work methods continuously

* Follow COSHH regulations, risk assessments, and work procedures

* Maintain equipment in top working order, reporting any faults immediately

* Follow safety practices and maintain a tidy work area

* Complete all relevant documentation to ensure quality standards are met

Skills & Experience Required:

* Time-served as a Conventional Centre Lathe Turner

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

* Prioritisation skills to manage workload effectively

* Experience in milling, drilling and operating XYZ machinery would be beneficial but not essential
