Responsibilities:

Embodies the Hospital’s core values in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Plans, organizes, directs and controls the workflow in the assigned areas. Rearranges E.S.D. employee assignments to provide coverage for employees' vacations and absenteeism.

Evaluates employees’ performance, mentors and trains employees, completes personnel reports, discusses problems, and counsels employees when necessary. Initiates corrective action procedures when necessary. Performs recordkeeping such as daily documentation of work performed and payroll hours for employees.

Conducts inspections of assigned areas to ensure that work is being carried out in a proper and orderly manner. Provides monthly written documentation of area inspections.

Establishes and maintains inter-departmental relations with other departments such as: Linen, Dietary, Nursing, Engineering, etc.

Continually updates personal working knowledge of regulations, area/unit requirements, chemical and equipment use, and hospital policies. Recommends changes in policies and/or procedures to Director.

Assigns and responds with staff and equipment when emergency calls and situations arise, such as: fires, floods, disaster alerts and activations.

Evaluates new cleaning products, materials and equipment. Orders supplies as needed, reports on equipment needs and conditions.

Provides coverage for other supervisors during their absences. Assists E.S.D. employees with assigned tasks when necessary.

Monitors specialized areas such as the receiving docks and entrances for cleaning and illegally parked vehicles. Collaborates with Security Department for towing of illegally parked vehicles.

Qualifications:

Years of Experience: 2 -3 Years

Language Skills: Proficient in English both verbally and written

Education Requirements: High School Diploma/GED

Requirements:

Work requires the ability to solve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles.

Work requires communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions and well‑developed writing skills.

Physical Requirements of the JobWork requires frequently lifting and carrying patients/children/objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and occasionally lifting and carrying patients/children/objects weighing 11 to 20 pounds.

Work requires regularly stooping and bending.

Work requires regularly reaching and grasping objects below shoulder level, and frequently reaching and grasping objeacts at shoulder level, and occasionally reaching and grasping objects above shoulder level.

Work requires frequently pushing and/or pulling non‑motorized equipment (e.g., stretcher, food cart, mop, etc.) weighing 11 to 20 pounds, and regularly pushing and/or pulling non‑motorized equipment (e.g., stretcher, food cart, etc.) weighing over 50 pounds.

Work requires regularly grasping and fine manipulation with hands.
