The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Transportation/Highway Engineering Intern for the Infrastructure Business Unit in Atlanta, Georgia. 

The Transportation/Highway Engineering Intern will collaborate with and be mentored by engineering associates on our team.  The selected candidate will assist on plan preparation for a variety of roadway design projects.  This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of the Transportation Engineering Industry.

Responsibilities:

Assist a team of highway engineers with the design of roadway corridors, intersections, and interchanges. This includes roadway geometrics, alternatives analysis, alignment studies, roadside safety evaluations, and crash and safety reporting.

Prepare designs, plans, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates under the direction of an experienced engineer

Gather and provide data for the preparation of engineering reports and studies

Perform design calculations and develop design documentation

Develop materials and exhibits for public involvement

Qualifications:

Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Program at an ABET accredited university

1-2 years remaining until program completion (Rising Junior, Senior, 1st or 2nd Semester Grad/PhD student)

Solid oral and written communications skills

Ability to effectively interact with and build relationships with others

Preferred Qualifications:

2.5 GPA or higher

AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience

Specific interest in Transportation/Roadway Design
