Apricus Resourcing are currently working with a leading council authority in Redbridge who are looking for an IDVA for a locum role they have available.

As an IDVA you will work within an MDT that provides first class care/support to victims of domestic violence. The service aim to engage with victims to offer support, address needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours. Within your role you will be working with external agencies, case managers and fellow IDVA’s to review and develop safety plans. The manager is looking for compassionate candidates who are passionate about supporting vulnerable adults, if you’ve never worked within domestic violence roles but are keen to get into this area this may be perfect for you as the service are keen to hear from people who have worked within similar settings such as mental health, criminal justice, substance misuse etc.

Main Duties:

* Work to embed the IDVA role into multi-agency responses to domestic abuse in the area.

* Support victims/survivors through ongoing risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy, emotional support, and practical support (e.g.: legal, housing, and financial guidance)

* Effective understanding and implementation of institutional advocacy by pro-socially challenging partner agencies, acknowledging best practice and striving for change to benefit the individual, the service and the sector.

* Working closing with other professionals to ensure that risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met.

* Develop and maintain effective partnership working with statutory, private and voluntary agencies to address the issue of domestic abuse.

* Provide a single point of proactive and regular contact for a range of professionals involved in the case of the victim/survivor.

The role is paying up to £25 per hour and includes working 37.5 hours per week and may result in a permanent role in the future. You will receive relevant training and attend practice management to support your professional development, as well as receiving clinical supervision to ensure that you receive the necessary support to thrive in this role.
