Mainstay Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading FM services provider looking to expand their team by hiring a skilled and dedicated Building Fabric Engineer. If you are experienced in maintaining fabric works such as carpentry, joinery, plumbing, basic electrical work, patch plastering, and painting, and are seeking an employer that values career development and progression, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Role Overview:
As a Mobile Fabric Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across various commercial properties throughout the East Midlands, primarily in Nottingham and Derby. The role involves working independently to handle a range of tasks including carpentry, door repairs, plumbing, painting, and general fabric maintenance, as well as assisting in electrical and mechanical projects when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform fabric maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, door fixing, painting, and minor electrical work.
Carry out pre-planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair tasks on commercial properties.
Assist in project planning, material estimation, and stock control to ensure smooth operation and timely project completion.
Provide support to other trades such as electrical and mechanical engineers as needed.
Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard, following Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or queries.
Accurately log work completed and ensure timely submission of reports.
Candidate Requirements:

Relevant qualifications in fabric trades such as Carpentry, Joinery, or Plumbing are desirable.
Previous experience in a Building Fabric Engineer or Facilities Maintenance role is advantageous, ideally with experience in an FM services environment.
A strong work ethic, with a desire to develop skills and progress within the company.
Ability to work independently to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Full UK Driving Licence is essential as the role involves traveling to multiple sites.
