Maintenance Engineer

Location: Thatcham, UK

Shift pattern: Weekdays:

Early shift: 6am-2pm
Late shift: 2pm-10pm
Night shift: 10pm-6am Fridays:

Early shift: 6am-11:30am
Late shift: 11:30am-5pm
Salary: £49k basic plus enhanced over time rates, 25 days holiday, 4.5% pension, progression and development opportunities

About the Company:
Globally recognized manufacturer known for producing high-quality products for industries around the world. The company maintains a cutting-edge production facility and is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team in Thatcham.

Role Overview:
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of production equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of machinery by performing both planned and reactive maintenance tasks. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment with state-of-the-art technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Perform reactive maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure continuous production flow.
Diagnose and repair mechanical & electrical issues.
Collaborate with production teams to identify improvements and prevent equipment failures.
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong mechanical or electrical engineering knowledge.
Skilled in fault-finding and troubleshooting a variety of equipment.
Experience with PLCs, is advantageous.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
