Job Title: Injection Moulding Process Technician

Location: West London

Salary: £35-£45k

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: 7-3.30pm, Day Shift

Position Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Process Technician to lead process optimisation, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure efficiency in our injection moulding operations for our client based in West London.

The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing our moulding processes, providing guidance to colleagues, and driving continuous improvement across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot injection moulding processes, identifying and resolving material and equipment issues.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive moulding troubleshooting guide.
Define and optimise injection moulding processes to meet Health & Safety, process capability, quality, and efficiency targets.
Evaluate tooling for areas of improvement, recommend enhancements to quality and efficiency, and support optimisation of moulding and setup processes.
Document and maintain moulding process packs to ensure consistency in production.
Provide training and guidance to colleagues to support business objectives and drive team development.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Continuous Improvement, Project Management, Tool Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production) to resolve process concerns and implement root cause corrective actions.
Analyze manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and providing recommendations to management, including cost/benefit analysis and future requirements.
Conduct trials for new materials, ensuring compatibility with existing tooling and equipment.
Promote fact-based decision-making, ensuring root causes of issues are identified and robust solutions are implemented.
Initiate and manage process improvement teams, using techniques like 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and 8D to resolve production issues.
Stay up-to-date with new developments in specifications, technology, and manufacturing processes.
Comply with all current work instructions and HSE regulations while carrying out duties.
Perform any additional tasks as required within your capabilities to support departmental needs.

Required Skills and Experience

Proven track record of process development within the plastics industry.
Extensive experience working with engineering polymers across a range of industries.
Skilled in process optimisation and conducting Process Capability studies.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with experience in techniques like 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and 8D.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor colleagues.
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating with teams to drive continuous improvement and resolve process concerns.
