Job Specification: Mechanical Estimator
Location: Manchester
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience) + Bonus Scheme

Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team in Manchester. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently from blank drawings to generate accurate pricing and quotes. You will play a crucial role in driving sales and profitability while collaborating with our design team to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze blank drawings to provide accurate pricing estimates for mechanical systems.
Prepare and submit detailed quotes for clients, ensuring clarity and competitiveness.
Collaborate closely with the design team to assess project designs and identify potential amendments for cost reduction.
Manage a diverse range of projects with a balanced focus on both tender and framework opportunities.
Efficiently price fit-out jobs, often requiring a rapid turnaround (1-hour response time), while handling traditional projects that may take 3-4 weeks.
Conduct site visits and client meetings as needed to gain insight into project requirements and client expectations.
Utilize Excel and other estimating software to maintain organized records and ensure accurate calculations.
Participate in a bonus scheme based on a percentage of gross profit (GP) after achieving specific targets, allowing for significant earning potential.

Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or subcontracting industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes.
Proficiency in Excel and experience with estimating software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and team members.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to identify cost-saving measures.
