Data Analyst, £17.50 per hour (umbrella rate) Various locations - Minimum 6-month contract

Are you a Data Scientist or Data/Statistical Analyst looking for an opportunity to develop your skills whilst working in a huge data organisation.

These roles are hybrid and can be based in Hampshire, South Wales or North East England

We have an exciting vacancy for you to work with a public sector client for a minimum of 6 months. The role requires you to have or be eligible for SC clearance

What will you be doing;

  • Contributing to a wide range of analytical and research projects, working flexibly across project teams where needed.
  • Work in a team exploring data and methods, sometimes using linked survey data where relevant, to build subnational estimates from the bottom up, and developing innovative models and simulations for regional and subnational estimation.
  • Work on a project to develop a faster indicator of Travel and Tourism using administrative data sources, such as Visa card transaction data.

I am keen to speak to Data professionals with skills and experience including:

  • Data analysis, visualisation, and programming in Python/R.
  • Improving quality and reusability of code using version control (eg Git) and contributing to the development of reproducible analytical pipelines.
  • Able to communicate effectively, working on analytical projects and liaising with various stakeholders as necessary and can explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Good understanding of the links between data and the empirical world.

It would be beneficial if you also have experience in Machine learning and Analysing large databases using PySpark from various sources of data.
