We are Avid Management Resources and we work with Early Learning Centers across Central Ohio and we have a great opportunity with our client. This role is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment where young children can grow, learn, and thrive. 

Position Overview:

The Behavioral Specialist will work closely with children, teachers, and families to address behavioral challenges and promote positive behavior in the classroom. This role involves developing and implementing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs), providing support and training to staff, and collaborating with parents to ensure consistency across home and school environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and behavioral intervention, with a focus on children with special needs or behavioral disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students displaying challenging behaviors.

Collaborate with teachers to integrate behavioral strategies into daily classroom routines and activities.

Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of challenging behaviors.

Provide direct support to students during classroom activities, helping them to engage in positive behaviors and develop social-emotional skills.

Monitor and assess the progress of students, adjusting BIPs as needed to ensure continued growth and development.

Work closely with parents and caregivers to provide strategies and support for managing behaviors at home.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Special Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).

Experience working with young children in an early childhood or educational setting, particularly those with behavioral challenges.

Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and other evidence-based behavioral intervention techniques.

Strong understanding of child development and the unique behavioral needs of young children.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

Ability to remain patient, calm, and positive in challenging situations.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Certification in behavior analysis or a related field is a plus (e.g., BCaBA, BCBA).
