The Client

Our client is one of the UK’s largest engineering surveyors specialising in land, measured building and underground utility surveys as well as monitoring and site engineering schemes. They have a network of nine offices across the UK, with over 160 surveyors and engineers working on some of the UK’s major construction and infrastructure developments.

The Role

As a Land Surveyor Technician, you will complete small to medium scale land surveys to a high standard, and will be able to complete survey projects independently. The ideal candidate will have previous practical experience and technical knowledge of topographical surveying, including processing survey and CAD data.

Responsibilities

* Complete small to medium scale topographical surveys independently and to a high standard

* Work with and take instructions from the lead surveyor on large and complex surveying projects

* Process survey data and CAD data to a high working standard

* Demonstrate good competent knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks

* Accurately set up surveying instruments, recording data and providing logistical support to other team members

* Work effectively on projects with a trainee and junior surveyors and assist with their development by providing practical onsite experience

* Undertake initial site inspections and complete dynamic risk assessments when attending survey sites, and ensure all the required safety measures are in place prior to commencing the work

* Undertake training to learn measured building surveying, laser scanning, large complex topographical surveys and a basic knowledge of site engineering and setting out

* Full UK driving licence

* Right to work in the UK
