Central is currently recruiting for a Team Manager, to work in the Westminster area. The 68 bed male service provides specialist support to clients with a variety of support needs including substance use, mental health and rough sleeping.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 1 - 2 months, with the possibility of extension. The pay rate is £17.95 per hour, with £2.17 holiday pay, totalling £20.12 per hour.

In this position, you will be required to:

* Manage 4-5 staff; providing effective line management, supervision, training and development opportunities, overseeing staff recruitment and rota management

* Actively direct team members in their day-to-day work to ensure service users receive a consistent, high quality and responsive service

* Ensure that each client has an individual package of support with regular formal and informal key working, and up-to-date support plans, risk assessments and needs assessments

* In conjunction with the Service Manager lead and support the service staff to deliver client interventions within a Psychologically Informed Environment and based in a Strengths and Recovery Model and Harm Minimisation framework approach

* Oversee referrals ensuring they meet the criteria and service specification and ensure that referrals are interviewed, assessed and accepted / rejected in line with policy

* Ensure that all clients have a move-on plan agreed within the first three months of their stay, and this is regularly reviewed to ensure residents do not exceed the contractual length of stay

* As directed by the Service Manager, contribute to organisational and statutory monitoring and reporting within set deadlines

* Ensure the property is maintained to a high standard and that effective systems are in place to ensure all areas of housing management are efficient and offer value for money, with voids kept to a minimum and rental income maximised

* Ensure that social inclusion is promoted within the project through a range of initiatives that ensures clients have access to income maximisation, meaningful use of time activities, education, training and volunteering opportunities as well as health improvement initiatives

* Support the Service Manager in ensuring that the service represents value for money and operates within budget

* Ensure staff are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and fulfil their responsibilities within the organisations Health and Safety procedural framework

To apply for this role, you must have:

* Experience and understanding of staff and service management

* Experience and understanding of the principles and delivery of risk and needs assessment, planned support, goal setting and advocacy with vulnerable people within a Recovery and Strengths Model and the development of psychologically informed environments (PIE)

* Experience of managing complex and difficult situations in relation to the provision of service to people presenting with a varied range of needs; including substance use, mental health, dual-diagnosis, personality disorders, physical disability and learning difficulties

* Understanding of the principles underlying a quality service which is customer focused with the ability to develop the skills of both staff and service users

* Understanding of the range of issues involved in the delivery of quality services to a chaotic and slow to change client group with complex and enduring needs around poly substance use and an ability to provide flexible and client centred solutions to problems of behaviour

* Knowledge of The Cycle of Change, Strengths and Recovery model, Harm Minimisation, Assessment, Action Planning and Smart Goal setting, Group work and Intervention and engagement strategies

* Understanding of Housing Management in relation to License Agreements.

* High level of numeracy, literacy and comprehension in order to be able to contribute to budget setting, monitor expenditure, write reports and review, analyse and extrapolate from written information.

* Strong networking skills, and proven ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to establish or improve services to service users.

Candidates must confirm their interest as soon as possible, with interviews scheduled shortly after and the appointed candidate expected to start as soon as possible.

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
