Extra Recruitment are currently recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Transport Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will build professional relationships with our transport suppliers to ensure we are getting the best service most cost-effectively. The Transport Manager will lead, develop, and support the transport department's daily operations, ensuring its efficiency.

Responsibilities of a Transport Manager:

Plan, coordinate, and manage transportation operations to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures.

Monitor and optimise transport costs and performance (maintaining transport margins)

Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.

Manage and lead a team of Transport Management Specialists to ensure the business needs are achieved

Coordinate with clients and suppliers to meet their transportation needs.

Maintain accurate records of transport activities and prepare reports.

Support new initiatives and take an active part in projects relating to Transport.

Manage the service and repairs of the vehicles.

Transport Manager Details:

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 PA

Location: Birmingham

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Transport Manager Requirements:

Proven experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar role.

Experience in people management and developing teams.

Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, logistics, and working with carrier insurance requirements

Experience in leading RFQ’s with potential new clients

Excellent organisational and leadership skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
