Production Planner/Buyer – Package Overview:

* £30,000 – £35,000 (Up to £40k with Bonus)

* Full time, Permanent

* Day Shift - 7am – 4:30pm Mon-Thu 7am – 3pm Friday

Company Overview – Production Planner/Buyer

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality, precision plastics is currently looking for a Production Planner/Buyer, with a strong purchasing background, to join their team on a full-time basis. They serve a diverse range of industries including: Automotive, Aerospace, and FMCG.

Production Planner/Buyer – Roles & Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain detailed production schedules.

* Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to schedules, adjusting plans as needed to meet customer requirements and mitigate any delays.

* Work closely with the production team to optimise equipment utilisation and minimise downtime.

* Analyse production metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement, focusing on efficiency and waste reduction.

* Source and purchase raw materials, negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring the best possible terms for price, quality, and delivery.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, initiating purchase orders to prevent shortages while avoiding excess stock.

* Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, resolving any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing promptly.

* Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring alignment with production needs.

* Communicate effectively with all relevant departments to ensure a seamless flow of information and materials throughout the production process.

Production Planner/Buyer – Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a Production Planner/Buyer in a plastics manufacturing environment.

* Proficient in production planning software and ERP/MRP systems.

* In-depth knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain management.

* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

* Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
